The Idea of Bushtits

November 13, 2025

by Kevin Miller

The cloud of dots flits

between magnolia and

clematis draped arbor.

They ease into cover, zip

and pip, scatter then light,

ideas coalesce, motion stills.

The world’s breath kept

like the spray of great ideas

they fan in a gray mist

vanish shadows in shade.

MoonPath Press published Miller's Spring Meditation in 2022. His collection, Vanish, received the Wandering Aengus Publication Award in 2019. Miller lives in Tacoma, Washington.
